The outer shell is made from Sun Protector™ fabric, the strongest fabric available. Sun Protector™ fabric is UV, saltwater, chemical, rot and mildew resistant. The inside core is made from a ¼-inch closed-cell Marine Fome™ that doesn’t absorb water, and is rot and mildew resistant. This special inside core is beefed-up to reinforce the outer shell so that it can absorb shock loads from excessive rode strain, protecting your boat.

It’s so durable that tugboat operators use RodeRap™ to protect their towlines. The RodeRap™ Chafe Guard was designed specifically to fit over the deployment rode used for sea anchors, but you can also use RodeRap™ around your ground anchor rope or chain. Simply wrap RodeRap™ around the anchor rope or chain to protect your rode, toe rails and decks. The 36-inch-long chafe guard features a 1-3/4 inch flat Velcro easy-to-remove closure. Easily ties off to cleats with a strong double-back stitch loop. Sold each.
