Choose Your Compressor/Condenser
Frigoboat utilizes the highly regarded Secop/Danfoss BD35 and BD50 high-efficiency, variable speed compressors. The Compressor is the heart of any refrigeration system. The Secop/Danfoss compressors are extremely rugged and are designed to deliver years of trouble-free service.
Frigoboat Air-cooled compressors are assembled on a stainless steel base for easy installation and protection from corrosion. The condenser is built from quality copper and aluminum for maximum heat transfer.
The Keel-cooled (K35/50) and pumped-water cooled (W35/50) compressors are extremely compact - a mere 10 1/4" x 5 5/8" x 6 5/8" overall (7" height for the W35/50).
All the Frigoboat compressors can be combined with a variety of evaporators for a truly exceptional refrigeration system for your boat!
Choose the type of compressor/condenser you want: air-cooled, pumped water-cooled, or keel-cooled, then select compressor that best suits your installation. Select a BD35 for refrigerator boxes below 6 cu.ft. (freezers below 3 cu.ft.) or a BD50 for all larger boxes.
Air cooled compressors are the least expensive and easiest to install, however they may not work as well in warm tropical waters where the air temperatures may be too warm to absorb enough of the refrigerant's heat to cool your box completely.
Keel and Water cooled systems work very well in both tropical conditions and the cooler areas of North America and Europe.
